Financial Planning Intern
(Academic Practicum)
About the Program
Most finance internships involve fetching coffee and data entry. The Brandsma Capital Academic Practicum is different. We offer a structured, 12-week mentorship program designed to bridge the gap between textbook finance and real-world wealth management. You will work directly with our founder to understand the fiduciary standard, analyze real cash flows, and build financial blueprints.
*Please note: This is an unpaid internship strictly designed to fulfill academic credit requirements for university students.
The 12-Week Curriculum
Weeks 1-3: The Modern Tech Stack
Training on our proprietary cash-flow software, CRM, and financial planning tools. Learn the mechanics of how a modern RIA operates behind the scenes.
Weeks 4-6: Paraplanning Basics
Learn how to read tax returns, analyze complex cash flows, and input client data into financial models to spot immediate optimization opportunities.
Weeks 7-9: The Client Experience
Shadow live discovery calls and plan presentations (under NDA). Learn the most valuable skill in wealth management: communicating complex financial concepts simply.
Weeks 10-12: The Capstone Project
